CERRITOS (smt)- Georgia Tech has won two tough games without the assistance of their leading scorer, B.J. Elder. Oklahoma St. is trying to give their coach, Eddie Sutton, winner of 755 games, the one thing he does not have - a national championship. No one wants Duke to win and the team in the Final Four probably wouldn't fall into the top 10 Duke teams of all time, yet they are the only #1 seed in the Final Four. Connecticut, the preseason favorite, has not played a tough game yet and hasn't played a seed higher than #6. Their star, Emeka Okafor, missed most of the last game due to an injury. The first game on Saturday will see Georgia Tech take on Oklahoma St while the nightcap will be Duke vs. UConn in a rematch of the 1999 Championship where a 2-loss UConn team upset the 1-loss Duke team.
Of the fourteen entries with a chance for big money, RANDOM PICKS (2nd, 120 pts) is the only one who has his/her champion out (Kentucky). BINGO (1st, 124) will hope that Duke wins so that he can wrap up the HWCI NCAA Pool title on Saturday (as per the protocol for the past 9 pools), but if not, we will have two entries battling for the title on Monday for the first-time ever. But besides these 14 hopefuls, another 36 (44 overall) still have a chance to win the $40 Bonus Prize. That means 50 of the 79 entries (63.3%) still have a chance to win something other than pride or credit card debt or a new guitar.
1st Place = $370 2nd Place = $180 3rd Place = $120 4th Place = $ 80 Bonus Prize = $ 40
