    WISCONSIN CONTINUES MAGICAL RUN AS MICHIGAN ST. PULLS BY IOWA ST.
     Three more eliminated leaving just seven vying for money spots

     LA MIRADA, CA (smt)-  #1MW-Michigan St. and #2MW-Iowa St. played
a championship-caliber game with Micigan St. once again showing its
reserve by rallying from a 7-point deficit (59-52) with 5:49 left to
win by 11, 75-64.  This game was marked by horrible referees
(double foul?  ticky tack fouls late in the game?  violations missed
and suddenly violations called?) and resulted in the ejection of
Cyclone coach Larry Eustachy with gave the Spartans six free throws 
to end the game.  The keys?  The Spartans hit 22 of 24 free throws,
forced 19 Cyclone turnovers, and won despite being outrebounded, 
38-27.

     #8W-Wisconsin added #6W-Purdue as its latest victim of defensive
pressure and advancing to the Final Four for the first time in 59 
years.  The 64-60 victory and Michigan St.'s win will give the 
Badgers their 2nd consecutive Big 10 matchup.  Their 13 losses
(against 22 wins) is the most for a Final Four team.

     While nothing happened with the Wisconsin-Purdue game, the 
Michigan St. victory sent three more entries packing (GOLDBERG'S
GUESSES (11th-e, 88), LENNY (18th-e, 85), and CALIGATOR (22nd-e,
83)).  MORALES' MOUNDS (1st-$, 102) topped the century mark and 
will have to await the Florida-OSU result before he finds out
if he will be assured of winning the $180 top prize.  He will at
least take 2nd ($90).  THE MIGHTY MOBELFAKTA (3rd-2, 94) will at
least finish fourth in points but could lose the tiebreker for
fourth in some scenarios.  26 went 1-1 for the day and no one
will do better than 1-3 for the Fourth Round, another low.
