RHODE ISLAND BLOWS A 7-POINT LEAD IN SECONDS; KENTUCKY RALLIES FROM 17 DOWN
If Utah beats UNC, Anna Come Lately claims $150 prize, otherwise Caveman

It a heart-breaker, #8MW Rhode Island blew a 7-point lead in the final
minutes as #3MW Stanford advanced to the Final Four. URI's inexperience
showed with silly fouls stopping the clock and missed free throws
(including all 3 attempts in the final seconds) allowed Stanford to
take control of the game. Meanwhile, #1S Duke saw its 17-point lead with
about 10 minutes left evaporate as #2S Kentucky continued its hot tear
into the Final Four game vs Stanford. Duke did have a chance to try to
rekindle the 1992 game when Kentucky (at the time, stupidly) called a
timeout when Duke had none with four seconds left. But it was not to be
as the desperation 3-pt attempt was too high and Duke lost its first
Regional Final game ever (7-1). Duke's loss meant #1E North Carolina
was the only #1 seed to advance to the Final Four.

I had to root for KY even though I had Duke picked because my chances
to finish either 2nd or 3rd was better. I also wanted to URI to win but
they just couldn't hold it together. Rather sad. So I thought KY was
going under trailing by 17, but KY fought back and could hit the three-point
shots. With KY's win, that means that CAVEMAN
will finish 1st if UNC beats Utah in the semifinals and ANNA COME LATELY
will finish 1st if UNC loses to Utah. After four long years, I will
finally taste some sort of victory, either finishing 2nd, tied for 2nd,
or 3rd. A total of 7 players are fighting for the final positions with
MONEY, POINT MAN, SCOTTMAN, and BUCKEYE MIKE tied for fourth with 108
points, behind ANNA (1st, 118), CAVEMAN (2nd, 113), and
THE FABONE (3rd, 110). POINT MAN, SCOTTMAN, and BUCKEYE MIKE can't finish
higher than 4th, while MONEY can't finish higher than 3rd. Although
first place will be decided by the Final game, 2nd-4th are still up for
grabs when the Championship game is played on Monday, March 29.

UTHPOPE went 0-4 while ANNA went 3-1 for Round 4. 18 players went
0-2 today and only 2 picked Stanford correctly and 8 picked Kentucky.
A complete breakdown on who-will-win-what-when-what happens will be
emailed on Monday. All eight possibilities will be detailed.
