3/25/96, Issue # 13.5.0  "The Eight Scenarios"

            Basically it comes down to if this:  if UMass wins the 1996 NCAA Championship, then SAY IT AIN'T SO JOE and REALISTIC MOBELFAKTA will tie for first place; otherwise, JAYBIAN becomes the new 1996 HWCI NCAA Tournament Champion. 

            Essentially there are now only four scenarios due to the fact that no one picked Mississippi St. or Syracuse to go to the Final Four on the other half of the bracket.

            Here are the tiebreaking procedures once again:

*  The _Tiebreaker_ will be as follows:

            1)  Total points in Championship Game

                        The person among the tied bettors closest, above or

                        below, to the total number of points scored in the

                        1996 NCAA Championship Game will win the tiebreaker.

   if tied then-

            2)  Split monies

                        The people tied for prize will split the prize money

                        awarded to that said prize.

                        (e.g., 2 tied for first place would split $160.00)

                        (e.g., 2 tied for second place would split $ 80.00)

                        (e.g., 2 tied for third place would split $ 30.00)

There are three possibilities for a tie in the first tiebreaker:

            if UMass is in the final _and_

            if total = 164 (SAY IT AIN'T SO JOE/REALISTIC MOBELFAKTA tied)

or         if total = 162 (BIX PIX/REALISTIC MOBELFAKTA tied)

or         if total = 156 (SAY IT AIN'T SO JOE/BIX PIX tied)

            BIX PIX TWEY and REALISTIC MOBELFAKTA will try to get into the money spot for the second year in a row, while newcomers SAY IT AIN'T SO JOE, JAYBIAN, JOSEPH, and JAMES will try to strike it rich on the first try.  LIVER BOY will try to avenge last year's 8th place showing.

Scenario One (if UMass wins it all)

If U MASS beats MISS ST in the final, then the possible winners are...

             Say it ain't so Joe Score:133 (tiebreak=158)

            Realistic Mobelfakta Score:133 (tiebreak=170)

                       Liver Boy Score:132 (place 3 winner)

If U MASS beats SYRACUSE in the final, then the possible winners are...

             Say it ain't so Joe Score:133 (tiebreak=158)

            Realistic Mobelfakta Score:133 (tiebreak=170)

                       Liver Boy Score:132 (place 3 winner)

Scenario Two (if UMass loses in Championship)

If MISS ST beats U MASS in the final, then the possible winners are...

                         Jaybian Score:124 (place 1 winner)

             Say it ain't so Joe Score:121 (tiebreak=158)

            Realistic Mobelfakta Score:121 (tiebreak=170)

                    Bix Pix Twey Score:121 (tiebreak=154)

If SYRACUSE beats U MASS in the final, then the possible winners are...

                         Jaybian Score:124 (place 1 winner)

             Say it ain't so Joe Score:121 (tiebreak=158)

            Realistic Mobelfakta Score:121 (tiebreak=170)

                    Bix Pix Twey Score:121 (tiebreak=154)

Scenario Three (if Kentucky loses in Championship)

If MISS ST beats KENTUCKY in the final, then the possible winners are...

                         Jaybian Score:132 (place 1 winner)

                    Bix Pix Twey Score:129 (place 2 winner)

                          Joseph Score:128 (place 3 winner)

If SYRACUSE beats KENTUCKY in the final, then the possible winners are...

                         Jaybian Score:132 (place 1 winner)

                    Bix Pix Twey Score:129 (place 2 winner)

                          Joseph Score:128 (place 3 winner)

Scenario Four (if Kentucky wins it all)

If KENTUCKY beats MISS ST in the final, then the possible winners are...

                         Jaybian Score:144 (place 1 winner)

                          Joseph Score:140 (place 2 winner)

                           James Score:139 (place 3 winner)

If KENTUCKY beats SYRACUSE in the final, then the possible winners are...

                                                            Jaybian Score:144 (place 1 winner)

                          Joseph Score:140 (place 2 winner)

                           James Score:139 (place 3 winner)
