3/24/96, Issue # 12.4.2  "Upsets galore!"

            # 4 Syracuse and # 5 Mississippi St. beat their respective region # 2 seeds to advance to the Final Four in East Rutherford, NJ.  All 19 people went 0-2 for Sunday's Regional Finals.  The Orangemen held off # 2 Kansas and consequently knocked off HATE THE DUCKS and SHAMAN from the list of eligible people who can win money and knocked LIVER BOY to at most third place.  HATE THE DUCKS was battling for first (three points behind LIVER BOY) as late as Friday night (and 82/128 chances for money), but he went 0-4 in the Regional Final games for a quick elimination.

            The Bulldogs continued to roll upsetting # 2 Cincinnati in rather easy fashion.  This is Mississippi St.'s first Final Four appearance.  The Bearcats loss eliminated LIL' SAIGON and narrowed the field for money takers to just seven.  Only three people now have a chance to win the 1996 HWCI NCAA Tournament Pool.

            JAYBIAN is still in the best shape (6 of 8 chances for first) but can lose it all if UMass wins it all.  Then SAY IT AIN'T SO JOE and REALISTIC MOBELFAKTA will tie for first.

            Tomorrow I will post the eight different scenarios and who would win what (Final Four Possibilities).

*  The _Tiebreaker_ will be as follows:

            1)  Total points in Championship Game

                        The person closest, above or below, to the total points

                        scored in the 1996 NCAA Championship Game will win the

                        tiebreaker.

   if tied then-

            2)  Split monies

                        The people tied for prize will split the prize money

                        awarded to that said prize.

                        (e.g., 2 tied for first place would split $160.00)

                        (e.g., 2 tied for second place would split $ 80.00)

                        (e.g., 2 tied for third place would split $ 30.00)
